Created in 2003, by Dr. Arthur Agatston and detailed in his book, the South Beach Diet is a diet for losing weight that was designed by the doctor to be foolproof and delicious. It is named after the famous South Beach area in Miami and is often referred to as a low-carb diet that is modified. Like other low-carb diets, it is low in cards and high in protein and healthy fats. But, you don’t have to count your carbs like the Adkins Diet. There is no strict maximum carb amount per day.
Obviously, the goal of the South Beach Diet is to aid weight loss but also an overall healthy lifestyle. Its touted as a healthy way to eat even if you do not want to lose weight.
